In addition to leading Alvarez & Brown CPA Group, Nelson owns and operates a commercial pool business. This firsthand experience gives him a deep understanding of the day to day challenges business owners face, including making payroll, managing cash flow, handling unexpected expenses, and planning for growth.

Before starting this firm, Nelson worked at PwC and CFGI, two leading finance and accounting consulting firms, where he held multiple outsourced CFO roles managing cash flow, financial strategy, and accounting operations for mid-sized and large domestic companies.

Nelson’s approach is practical, proactive, and grounded in the realities of running a business. He believes accounting should provide clarity, reduce stress, and support better decision making rather than simply checking boxes.
